27. THE LAW OF CONFRONTATION

This Law states that if you fear doing something, yet have the courage to do it anyway, you will soon do a mental flip-flop and may even become addicted to doing it. If you force yourself to do something you are afraid of, the experience generates the internal release of beta-endorphins. These internally manufactured opiates chemically resemble opium, and are quite addicting. The more you do whatever it is that you fear--despite the fear--the more you will want to do it and the better you will feel doing it each time.
